The traditional restaurant "Am Knipp" has been the oldest tavern in Aachen since 1698. Restaurant and pub with historic character, featuring a beer garden for 120 guests in keeping with the style of the house, just a 5-minute walk from the historic market square. Restaurant Pippin has been located in Aachen's Jakobsviertel for over 20 years and opens Tuesday to Saturday from 6:00 p.m. Head chef Torger Jan Schlennstedt focuses on fresh, regional and seasonal products in the spirit of Slow Food, as well as creative, modern and down-to-earth dishes with changing themes. The modern interior in the stylish old building with stucco ceilings and wooden floorboards provides a fitting atmosphere. Markt43 is a newly opened restaurant on Aachen's market square with a selection of fresh crossover cuisine. It offers food and drinks for body and soul - starters, main courses, desserts and honest wines. Guests can dine in or take away lunch dishes for the office or to enjoy in the Aachen sunshine. The premises housed Aachen's oldest pharmacy for over 404 years; the restaurant is located opposite the historic Aachen Town Hall.
